The four vehicle classes in Star Wars Galactic Racer
Star Wars Galactic Racer races four vehicle classes, and the class you pick decides how the vehicle behaves far more than the kit bolted to it. Speeder bikes are small and quick off the line but run wide in corners. Landspeeders are heavier and hold a line by drifting. Skim speeders bank like a starfighter. Podracers are their own category entirely, flown rather than driven.
Each class carries three traits and one advanced stat, which is the technique the class is built around: Kinetic Burst on a speeder bike, Drift on a landspeeder, Knife Edge on a skim speeder and Air Brake on a podracer. The comparison above puts all four side by side.
Where vehicle stats come from in Star Wars Galactic Racer
The class is the first of three layers. It fixes the handling model and names the advanced stat, and it is the one choice in Star Wars Galactic Racer you cannot change without switching vehicle.
The six upgrade tracks are the second layer, shared by every vehicle in the game. The Advanced track has no fixed name: it raises whatever the class calls its advanced stat, so the same Vector Servo upgrade reads Kinetic Burst on a speeder bike and Knife Edge on a skim speeder. That is the one upgrade whose value depends entirely on the class you are driving.
Vehicle parts are the third layer, bought with credits and installed per vehicle. The kit and the body parts hung on it are cosmetic and change nothing, so the class and those two layers are the whole of a vehicle's performance in Star Wars Galactic Racer.
Part slots differ by class
A speeder bike, landspeeder and skim speeder each take six body parts plus a chassis. Podracers take ten plus the chassis, because the engines are separate from the pod and each side is built independently. That is why podracers account for 134 of the 353 body parts in Star Wars Galactic Racer despite there being only 14 of them.
